J&J Says its Vaccine Gives At Least 8-Month Immunity for Delta Variant

The Johnson & Johnson Company has claimed in a statement that their vaccine is more effective on the delta variant and that its single dose neutralizes the delta variant and maintains immunity against widespread infection for 8 months. The company said that those taking the vaccine have seen strong neutralizing antibodies against all variants, including Delta, over the course of at least eight months. At the same time, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Delta variant is expected to spread rapidly in the US in the coming weeks.

Johnson & Johnson Company executive Johan Van Hoof said during an interview that ‘we are extremely happy, really and confident that there is no need for boosters at this time and we are safe’.

It also said that within 29 days of the first dose of the vaccine, it had neutralized the delta version and built up better immunity over time. Van Hoof said that the company does not think that people who have been given the vaccine will need a booster for a year. So there is no need to change the formulation.

According to company data, the number of antibodies, known as titres, was much higher than the beta variant first detected in South Africa. Therefore the second dose of the vaccine is known to increase the number of antibodies of a person.

According to the information, the company is also studying the ability of its vaccine to make T cells, which is another measure of its protective power.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that according to an estimate, cases of the delta form of Covid-19 have now been reported in about 100 countries. The WHO warned that in the coming months, this highly contagious form will become the most dominant form of the corona virus in the whole world. The WHO, sharing the data in the “Covid-19 Weekly Epidemiological Update”, said that as of June 29, 2021, “delta-type cases have been reported in 96 countries and it is possible that the actual figures are higher because there is a need to determine the nature of the virus”. Gnome Series capabilities are also limited.
