Ahead of next year’s Punjab Assembly elections, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday promised free electricity in the state if his Aam Aadmi Party wins the elections. A day before his Chandigarh visit, the AAP leader also claimed that women in Punjab are very angry with the price rise.
Kejriwal tweeted, “In Delhi, we provide 200 units of free electricity to every family. Women are very happy. The women of Punjab are also very angry with the inflation. AAP government will also give free electricity in Punjab.
AAP spokesperson and Delhi MLA Raghav Chadha said that the Punjab Chief Minister’s Office has not allowed the party to hold a press conference at a pre-arranged venue. Chadha said Kejriwal will make a “big announcement” in Chandigarh on Tuesday.
Chadha tweeted, “Captain Amarinder Singh’s fear of Kejriwal has reached such an extent that his office has not allowed us to hold a press conference at a pre-determined venue. Still, Arvind Kejriwal will make a big announcement tomorrow in Chandigarh, which will send 440 volts of current to the Captain and his party.” Assembly elections in Punjab are proposed in February or March next year.
Let me tell you that Kejriwal had gone to Punjab on a one-day tour a few days ago. In Punjab, Kejriwal had announced that the CM candidate of the state from his party would be from the Sikh community. He said that this is the right of the Sikh society.
Arvind Kejriwal said, “The CM face of the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab will be from the Sikh community. Because we feel that Punjab is the only state in the whole world whose CM is from Sikh society. We believe that this is the right of the Sikh society.
