Kuwait Prepares for 2-week Travel Ban

Kuwait is making a new effort to stop the spread of Covid-19, under which it will prevent the entry of residents of other countries into the country for a period of two weeks.  An official spokesperson announced this here.  The announcement was made by government spokesman Tareq al-Mejrem after the Kuwait government meeting.  About 9 lakh 60 thousand Indians live in Kuwait.  It is believed that this travel ban will affect them.

The meeting was held to discuss the state of public health and the latest developments.  The two-week ban will begin on February 7.  Apart from this, the government has decided to suspend all business activities from 8 am to 5 am.  He said that this time period is applicable except for pharmaceutical companies and grocery stores. He said that all activities in sports clubs, gyms, salons and spa centers will also be stopped for the time being.  He said that during this period all festive activities including National Day will be banned.
