Maharashtra Gov Issues New Electric Vehicle Policy

Maharashtra government has issued a new electric vehicle policy. The purpose of issuing this policy is to purify the environment by reducing the increasing pollution in the country. The state government aims to register at least 10 percent of electric vehicles in its cities by 2025. The Maharashtra government has also set a target of setting up around 1,500 charging stations in Mumbai by 2025.

The main objective of this policy is to promote cleanliness in Maharashtra. Along with this, the objective of this policy is to make Maharashtra the first state in the country to adopt electric vehicles. The effort of the state government is to take Maharashtra far ahead in the matter of electric vehicles, so that this state can become a hub of investors. The state government is working fast in this direction.

The purchase and demand for electric vehicles in Maharashtra is expected to increase. The government estimates that due to this, fuel consumption will decrease by 30 to 50% by 2025. Along with this, a new scrap policy has been issued. Under this policy, it will be helpful to get more and more replacement of old vehicles.

The state government has said that those promoting electric vehicles will be encouraged on their behalf. The government also has a plan to set up a 1 gigawatt battery plant in Maharashtra. According to the policy, an incentive plan up to Rs 10,000 will be given on one lakh e-two wheelers. Whereas an incentive plan of up to Rs 30,000 will be given on 15 thousand e-three wheelers and up to 30 thousand rupees will be given on 10 thousand goods e-three wheelers.
