Mason Greenwood – Former Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood has been released on bail. Further investigation on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill is pending.
The former football star was arrested Sunday on allegations of abuse. Videos, photos, and voice recordings of him and the woman were uploaded on Instagram. They have already been taken down.
Greater Manchester Police arrested him and extended his stay for further inquiry. GMP said, “A 20-year-old man arrested (on Sunday 30 January 2022) on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman has been released on bail pending further investigation”.
Manchester United announced, “As previously communicated, Mason Greenwood will not train with, or play for, the club until further notice.” This was broadcasted following the arrest of Greenwood.
EA also announced, “Mason Greenwood has been removed from active squads in FIFA 22 and has also been suspended from appearing in FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) packs and Ultimate Draft.”
Nike stated, “We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.”
Manchester United also released an email to followers saying they can exchange their Greenwood jerseys. They were given until the end of March to swap their jerseys. They may also do it through Adidas’ online store.
