Rama IX park set to be bangkok’s latest new lung – trees and lakes promised in Modern Park setting
Bangkok’s governor went on Facebook to hail the latest park being constructed in the Thai capital.
What is expected to be called the king Rama Memorial park is on land that was formerly the nang lerng horse racing track.
The park will feature statues of key royal figures and has been called a learning experience and a Modern Park.
Some 4,500 trees are being planted and there will be extensive water features to mark the departed monarchs work in irrigation. It is expected to be completed in 2024.
