Oman Approves Covaxin Dosage

Indigenous Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin, developed by Bharat Biotech based in Hyderabad, India, has been recognized in Oman. Due to this, passengers taking a dose of Covaxin will no longer have to undergo isolation in Oman. In fact, on Wednesday, the government of the Sultanate of Oman has announced a relaxation in the rules for traveling to the country without isolation for covaxin made in India.


The Indian Embassy in Muscat has given this information by tweeting. The tweet states that ‘Covaxin has now been added to the approved list of Covid-19 vaccines for travel to Oman without quarantine. This will facilitate travelers to India to get Covaxin vaccine.

It has been told in the press release of the Indian Embassy that all those travelers to India who have received both doses of Covaxin two weeks before the date of travel, will now be able to travel to Oman without isolation. All other Covid-19 related requirements and conditions, such as RT-PCR test will be applicable for such passengers before arrival.

After this announcement, those Indian people who were looking to travel to Oman and who have taken both doses of Covaxin have heaved a sigh of relief. Passengers who have taken AstraZeneca/Covishield have already been allowed to travel to Oman without quarantine. Let us tell you that Covaxin is India’s first indigenous Covid-19 vaccine which has been developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research.
