Earlier, Chirag Paswan, who reached his house to persuade the rebel uncle Pashupati Paras, had to return without being found after waiting for an hour. The five rebel LJP MPs had met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and handed over letters of support to him, in which the party had talked about choosing its new leader.
In the letter of support submitted by the Lok Sabha Speaker on behalf of the five revolting LJP MPs, it has been told that they choose Pashupati Kumar Paras as their leader. From now on, Pashupati Kumar Paras will be the leader of LJP’s Lok Sabha Parliamentary Party. Mehboob Ali Qaiser will be the Deputy Leader of the Lok Sabha Parliamentary Party. Suraj Bhan Singh Bhai and Nawada MP Chandan Singh will be the party’s chief whip in the Lok Sabha.
Amidst the ongoing turmoil in the party, Pashupati Paras said, “Five MPs of our party wished that it was necessary to save the party. I have not broken the party, I have saved the party. As long as I am alive, I will keep the party alive. Chirag Paswan is my nephew. I have no problem with Chirag Paswan. Still the real party is Lok Janshakti Party. Till now, Chirag Paswan is the only president of the party, but now he can stay in the party if he wants. We don’t have any complaints about them.
