Petrol, Diesel Prices Hiked Today After Two-Day Pause

Oil companies did not change the prices of petrol and diesel for two days. After a break of two days, the price of petrol and diesel has increased again today. Petrol has become costlier by 31-39 paise and diesel by 15-21 paise per liter in four major metros. After this increase, oil prices across the country have reached a new record level. Now the new price of petrol in the capital Delhi has gone up to Rs 101.54 and diesel to Rs 89.87 per liter.

Petrol in Mumbai is being sold at Rs 107.54 and diesel at Rs 97.45 per liter. Petrol in Kolkata is priced at Rs 101.35 and diesel at Rs 93.02 per liter. While in Chennai, petrol is priced at Rs 102.23 and diesel at Rs 94.39 per liter.

Petrol prices are beyond Rs 100 per liter in all the metropolitan cities of the country. The 17 states where petrol has crossed the 100 mark include Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Kerala, Bihar, Punjab, Ladakh, Sikkim, Delhi, Puducherry and West Bengal. Similarly, the price of diesel in the capital also increased by Rs 9.14 per liter in the last two months to Rs 89.87 per liter in the national capital from Rs 80.73 per liter in early May. Oil rates have been revised on 40 of the 76 days so far between May, June and July, with prices rising in the last two months. It remained unchanged for 36 days.
