Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the master plan for the development and reconstruction of Ayodhya, the city of Lord Shri Ram. Various aspects of development of Ayodhya were covered through a presentation by the officials of the Uttar Pradesh government. The development of Ayodhya is being envisaged as a spiritual center, global tourism hub and a sustainable smart city.
The Prime Minister was briefed about various upcoming and proposed infrastructure projects to improve connectivity with Ayodhya. Various infrastructure projects like airport, railway station expansion, bus station, roads and highways were discussed. A grand greenfield township was discussed for the reconstruction of Ayodhya which includes accommodation facilities for devotees, places for ashrams, monasteries, hotels, buildings of different states, tourist facilitation center for tourists, a world class museum will also be built .
Special attention is being paid to the development of infrastructure around the river Saryu and its ghats, apart from the gorgeous and beautiful river front, arrangements will also be made to make cruise operations on the river Saryu a regular feature. The city will be developed to ensure sustainability with ample space for cyclists and pedestrians, modernized traffic management using smart city infrastructure.
PM Narendra Modi described Ayodhya as a city which is inscribed in the cultural consciousness of every Indian. He said that Ayodhya should reflect our best traditions and our best developmental changes. Ayodhya is both spiritual and sublime. The human ethos of this city must match the infrastructure of the future, which is beneficial to all, including tourists and pilgrims.
The PM said that the construction of Ayodhya should be so grand that future generations should feel the desire to visit Ayodhya at least once in their lifetime. He said that development work will continue in Ayodhya in the near future. At the same time, the pace to take Ayodhya to this next leap of progress must begin now, it is our collective effort to celebrate the identity of Ayodhya and keep its cultural vibrancy alive in innovative ways.
The Prime Minister said that just as Lord Ram had the ability to bring people together, the development works of Ayodhya should be guided in the spirit of healthy public participation. He called upon the youth especially to take advantage of the skills of our talented youth in this development of the city. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma and many other ministers of the Uttar Pradesh government were present in the meeting.
