The Rajasthan government has announced the launch of ‘Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Energy Yojana’, giving a big relief to lakhs of farmers of the state on electricity bills. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced this on Saturday. Under this scheme, every farmer family of the state will be given a grant of one thousand rupees per month on the electricity bill from the government. This grant will come directly in the bank account of the farmers. The benefit of this scheme will be applicable on electricity bills from May this year.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave this information in one of his tweets. In his tweet, he wrote, “Farmers welfare has been the top priority of the state government. With this spirit, our government has taken many important decisions to make farmers prosperous and happy. In this episode, we now ‘Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Energy Yojana’. Going to start.”
Also in another tweet, he wrote, “The benefit of this will be available to all general category rural, metered and flat rate agricultural consumers. In this, an additional grant of Rs 1450 crore will be given annually by the state government.”
15 lakh farmers will get benefit
This scheme of the government will benefit 15 lakh farmers of the state. Those consumers will not get the benefit of this scheme on which any dues of power companies are going on. On the other hand, if in any month the electricity bill of a consumer is less than one thousand rupees, then the balance amount of the grant will be adjusted in the electricity bill of the next month.
The scheme has been implemented afresh in Gehlot
Let us tell you that the scheme of giving subsidy on electricity bills was started by former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in her earlier tenure. During that time every farmer of the state was given a grant of Rs 833 per month. However, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had stopped this scheme as soon as he came to power and announced to give more amount by implementing the scheme afresh.
