Ravindra Jadeja Becomes No. 1 Test All-Rounder

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest rankings for Test batsmen shortly before the reserve day game of the World Test Championship final. There has been no change in the top five places among batsmen in the latest rankings. South African wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock has entered the top-10. De Kock has benefited from his excellent batting in the recent Test series against West Indies in the rankings. At the same time, Australian cricketer Pat Cummins remains at number one in the bowlers’ ranking, but there has been a change in the ranking of the all-rounder. India’s all-rounder cricketer Ravindra Jadeja has become the world’s number one all-rounder in Test cricket. Jadeja was previously ranked number-1 in the all-rounder rankings in 2017.

Jadeja surpassed Holder to become the first all-rounder in the ICC Test rankings for all-rounders. Jadeja is now two points ahead of Holder (384 points) while England all-rounder Ben Stokes is third with 377 points. Apart from this, Ravichandran Ashwin of India is at number four with 353 points, while Shakib Al Hasan (338 points) of Bangladesh is in fifth place.

At the same time, Ashwin remains in second place in the bowlers’ ranking with 850 points. He is behind Pat Cummins of Australia (908 points). New Zealand’s Tim Southee (830 points) is in third place.

There is no change in the top five positions in the batsmen’s rankings. Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli is in fourth place with 814 points. Australia’s Steve Smith continues to top with 891 points while New Zealand cricket captain Kane Williamson (886 points) and Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne (878 points) are second and third respectively. England captain Joe Root (797 points) is at number five, followed by Indian pair of Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma in joint sixth with 747 points.

Currently the final of the cricket Test Championship is being played in London, UK. On the one hand, in this historic Test, Kohli scored 44 runs in India’s first innings, while Williamson scored 49 runs on the other hand. Apart from this, in the Test match played so far, Ashwin has got 2 and Jadeja has got one success.
