This decision has been taken keeping in view the upcoming festivals. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the Covid-19 positivity rate in the state is less than 2 percent.
CM Pramod Sawant said in Panaji that “The positivity rate of new Covid-19 cases in the state is 1.8 to 2%. Negative RT-PCR report or complete vaccination certificate is mandatory for Goa visit. Keeping in mind the upcoming festivals, we are looking for new Will issue SOP.”
Goa registered 97 new cases of corona on Friday, increasing the number of cases to 1 lakh 71 thousand 705. At least 133 patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the number of recoveries to 1 lakh 67 thousand 556. There was also one death due to corona in the state, after which the total number of deaths increased to 3157. Goa currently has 992 active cases. Dr Shekhar Salkar, a member of the State Government’s Expert Committee on Covid Management, has said that only vaccination can prevent the deaths due to the pandemic.
CM Sawant said that out of 3 thousand people who died of infection in the state, 2 thousand died in the second wave. Only 11 people died after vaccination, who also had a second serious illness. Vaccination can prevent 95.5% of deaths. Sawant said that if the third wave comes ahead, we can fight it and prevent deaths. Preventing deaths is important. We have to focus on how we can save people, for this, early consultation with the doctor will have to take and be admitted”
