Ruckus over NCT bill, Congress said if the bill is passed, democracy in Delhi will be in danger

The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amended Bill) 2021 i.e. NCT bill brought in Parliament on Monday by the Central Government has created a ruckus. Kejriwal government of Delhi has termed it wrong. At the same time, the Congress has targeted the central government over the bill. Congress leader Manish Tiwari said through social media on Tuesday that if the bill is passed in Parliament, democracy in Delhi will be in danger. The elected government of Delhi will remain as the petitioner only in the court of the Lieutenant Governor. Now the Lieutenant Governor will rule Delhi aggressively through the Ministry of Home Affairs. After the Center passes this new bill, the Lieutenant Governor in Delhi will have more powers. There will be many such matters other than the assembly, in which the state government will now have to get the permission of the Lieutenant Governor. For decisions related to the legislature, the government will have to get approval from the Lieutenant Governor 15 days in advance and 7 days in administrative decisions.
