Thailand is also slowly moving towards opening up fighting Corona so that the economy can be brought back on track, so now tourist places are also being opened under the sandbox plan. Samui Plus has also made some changes in its rules under the sandbox plan. according to the new rule
- Tourists need to travel from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport to Koh Samui.
- On arrival in Bangkok, passengers will need to download the Mor Chana app as well as the Samui Health Pass app.
- On arrival at Samui airport, an RT-PCR test will be conducted.
- International travelers can travel from the airport to their SHA+ certified hotel upon arrival with a Samui+ licensed transportation option.
- Have to stay in the hotel room till the negative report of RT-PCR is received. Once the report arrives, travelers can travel freely around Koh Samui, as well as Koh Phangan and Koh Tao.
- Only a few piers are approved for travel – Lomprayah pier at Mainam in Samui is oddly the only major pier approved, as well as Phu Yai Non pier and Buri Rasa private ferries. Koh Phangan uses the main ferries on the island at Thong Sala and Koh Tao uses the main Mai Haad Pier. The popular Angthong excursion tours can only be taken from Nathan Pier in Samui.
- Travelers have to stay in SHA+ accommodation only (with maximum 3 changes during 7 days).
- Carry the Mor Chana and Samui Health Pass app with you throughout your journey.
- The second RT-PCR test will be done on the sixth or seventh day. This can be taken at the Central Festival in Samui or Koh Phangan Hospital and Koh Tao Hospital. If those test results come back negative, travelers can continue their journey across Thailand.
- Anyone traveling for less than 7 nights must depart from Koh Samui airport itself.
- Passengers are not allowed to travel to other airports for departure from Thailand before 7 days.
- As with other programs, only fully vaccinated international travelers qualify for the Samui Plus plan.
