Sharad Pawar defends Anil Deshmukh, says Parambir has made wrong allegations

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has been defended by NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, caught in corruption charges amid the Antilia case. Pawar said in a press conference on Monday, “We feel that all these things were spoken by Parambir Singh (former police commissioner) because he has been transferred.” Pawar, while showing a document, said that Anil Deshmukh was an Admittant from February 6 to 15 at a Multispeciality Hospital in Nagpur. From 16 February to 27 February, he was in Home Quarantine i.e. Nagpur. Whereas in the letter written by Parambir Singh, it was claimed that in mid-February, there was a meeting between Sachin Waze and Anil Deshmukh at his Dnyaneshwar bungalow in Mumbai. Based on this, Pawar also rejected BJP’s demand for Deshmukh’s resignation. After Pawar’s press conference, Maharashtra’s Leader of Opposition and former CM Devendra Fadnavis retaliated. Sharing some evidence of Parambir Singh’s letter on social media, he wrote, ‘Sharad Pawar ji does not seem to have properly briefed about Parambir Singh’s letter. The evidence given in this letter shows that the date of the meeting has been stated in the end of February. Fadnavis raised the question and said, now tell me who is distracting the issue?
