At around 3:10 A.M. today, officials were notified of a fire at a factory located in Soi King Kaew 21, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province.
The fire was initially believed brought under control around dawn, but black smoke continued to billow into the sky late in the morning. During afternoon, a volunteer firefighter was reportedly found dead at the scene and injuring at least 60 people.
Right now, The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department and Bang Phli district office ordered the urgent evacuation of people living within a 3-5 Kilometre to evacuate from their homes. There were worries there could be more explosions as the core fire was moving towards another area used to store chemicals.
