Thailand COVID-19 Cases April 5, 2022 Update

Thailand Ministry of Health reports 21,088 new COVID-19 cases and an additional 91 deaths since yesterday. The ministry also announced an additional 27,519 patients recovered from the COVID-19 virus.

There were also an additional 10,884 cases that tested positive through an ATK test. This was not added to the daily tally reported. The 91 fatalities included a Myanmar national and a five-month-old baby. The range of their ages is between five months and 96 years old.

Bangkok had 17 new deaths while there were also four in adjacent Samut Prakan province. Other central plain provinces further from the capital recorded 22 deaths – six in Lop Buri, three each in Sa Kaeo, Chon Buri, and Rayong, two in Trat, and one each in Saraburi, Chachoengsao, Prachin Buri, Phetchaburi, and Suphan Buri.

The Northeast had 19 fatalities – six in Si Sa Ket, two each in Chaiyaphum, Buri Ram, Sakon Nakhon, Yasothon, and Ubon Ratchathani, and one each in Nong Bua Lam Phu, Surin, and Loei. The South reported 15 deaths – three each in Phatthalung and Songkhla, two in Nakhon Si Thammarat, and one each in Krabi, Surat Thani, Trang, Satun, Yala, Narathiwat, and Pattani.

The North saw 14 more coronavirus-related fatalities – four in Kamphaeng Phet, three in Sukhothai, two in Phetchabun, and one each in Tak, Lampang, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Phayao.

Of the new infections in the general population, 20,710 were confirmed at hospitals and 261 via mass testing.

Bangkok had the most cases at 3,286, followed by 1,076 in Chon Buri, 925 in Nonthaburi, 884 in Samut Prakan, and 679 in Nakhon Si Thammarat, 629 in Samut Sakhon, 583 in Nakhon Pathom, 518 in Buri Ram, 517 in Rayong and 491 in Songkhla.
