Thailand Extends Emergency Decree TilL 30 November

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) would like to provide the latest update that the Royal Thai Government has decided to extend the Emergency Decree nationwide for two more months until 30 November, 2021.

Published in the Royal Thai Government Gazette on 29 September, 2021, Thai Prime Minister, General Prayut Chan-o-cha signed the announcement on the fourteenth consecutive extension of the state of emergency for two more months after it expires today (30 September, 2021).

The two-month extension takes effect from 1 October – 30 November, 2021.

The announcement cited the COVID-19 situation in Thailand has gradually improved following the vaccination progress, allowing the country to revive the economy under the new ‘Smart Control and Living with COVID-19’ approach. This would be put in place under the newly introduced ‘Universal Prevention for COVID-19’ and ‘COVID Free Setting’ for organisations. It also noted the continued spread of the Delta COVID-19 variant both in Thailand and outside as another reason for the phased relaxation of restrictions to allow authorities to step up efforts on disease surveillance and investigation, as well as to curb local transmissions for the health and safety of everyone in the country.
