Thailand International Lantern and Food Festival, is scheduled to be held from 12 November to 6 December, 2021, at Muang Boran The Ancient City in Samut Prakan province in celebration of the annual Loy Krathong Festival.
Organised by Index Creative Village and Muang Boran The Ancient City, in collaboration with TAT, the event will feature more than 1,000 lanterns from around the world for festival-goers to take pictures with, and enjoy delicious international cuisine. Activities and highlights include krathong floating, magnificent fireworks, holy candle in clay pot lighting, a local temple fair and carnival, and a Thai traditional dress theme.
Throughout the 25 days, the event will take place each evening from 18.00-21.00 Hrs., and the gate will close at 20.00 Hrs.
The event will observe COVID-19 prevention measures, including limiting the number of visitors at any one-time, social distancing, temperature screening upon entrance, mandatory wearing of face masks, and provision of alcohol cleaning gel throughout the festival site.
Located just outside of Bangkok, Muang Boran The Ancient City is dubbed the world’s largest private outdoor museum and features over 100 structures of Thailand’s famous monuments and architectural attractions, including some life-size replicas. The complex’s layout preserves the pattern of traditional Thai lifestyles, and it boasts an experience comparable to a “Thailand-round journey within a day”.
