Thailand Ranks 18th Worldwide on COVID-19 Vaccination Drive

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha had recently hailed the coronavirus disease vaccination rollout of Thailand administering 80 million doses of the coronavirus disease 2019 vaccines within the country, as it also ranked 18th globally and 3rd within Southeast Asia in terms of the Covid-19 vaccination coverage.

According to Spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana of the Thai government, General Prayut had stated that he was pleased with the country’s efforts to curb the Covid-19 in Thailand as new infections in four digits while latest deaths were less than 100 for the past weeks.

To add to this, the latest fully recovered Covid-19 patients and were discharged in the hospitals had been exceeding the number of new daily cases.

Based on the data found on Bloomberg’s website on November 6, 2021, Thailand had provided 80,484,427 Covid-19 vaccines which covered 65.44% of its entire population.

As the country distributes 600,0000800,000 Covid-19 vaccines per day, 75% of its population are expected to acquire at least 1 jab within a month and that would assist the government’s Smart Entry policy for the country’s reopening, as revealed by Mr. Thanakorn.

IN relation to this, out of the 80 billion doses of the Covid-19 vaccines administer in Thailand (as of November 7), 43,978,814 doses were administered as the first jab, 33,950,925 as the second jab, 2,551,969 as the third jab and 2,719 as the fourth jab.
