Thailand has officially launched the “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025,” an ambitious campaign set to boost the nation’s tourism industry through year-round festivals, world-class sporting events, and exclusive travel privileges. With a target of 39 million international visitors and 3 trillion Baht in tourism revenue, this initiative positions Thailand as a global tourism and sports hub.
Prime Minister H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra emphasized the importance of tourism in Thailand’s economy, highlighting plans to enhance infrastructure, expand events, and create innovative experiences. Minister of Tourism and Sports Mr. Sorawong Thienthong outlined key measures to improve accessibility, including increasing flight frequencies, implementing an online TM6 immigration system, and upgrading transportation networks.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool introduced the “5 Grand Concept” to enrich visitor experiences:
- Grand Festivity – Year-long events such as Maha Songkran, Amazing Thailand Love Wins Festival, MotoGP, and Wonderfruit Festival.
- Grand Moment – Unique travel experiences at natural wonders like Doi Inthanon’s pink sea of mist and Chumphon’s bioluminescent plankton.
- Grand Privilege – Special promotions, including Amazing Romance Month and Amazing Thailand Grand Sales.
- Grand Invitation – High-profile events featuring global icons and sports legends.
- Grand Celebration – Commemorating milestones like the 50th anniversary of Thailand-China relations and the 15th Thailand Tourism Awards.
The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) is also prioritizing sports tourism, supporting Muay Thai’s global recognition and hosting major events such as the 33rd SEA Games (December 2025), ASEAN Para Games (January 2026), and FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship (August–September 2025).
Other high-profile sporting events include the Muaythai World Festival, Honda LPGA Thailand, MotoGP PT Grand Prix of Thailand, and Jet Ski World Series. These events will not only attract international visitors but also strengthen Thailand’s reputation as a premier destination for tourism and sports.
