The Kashmir Files becomes the most profitable Hindi film ever earning a 900.65% ROI. The film gathered a total gross revenue of 200.13 crores compared to its budget of 20 crores. This topples Uri – The Surgical Strike’s 876.24% ROI. All this in just 13 days from its official release.
The movie took the country by storm in just a few days shattering record after record.
The emotionally gripping film tells the story of the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990. Indian veteran actor Anupam Kher is among the cast joined of Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Puneet Issar, Mrinal Kulkarni, and others.
In Odisha, reports of a mob interrupting the theater to demand the screening of The Kashmir Files. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bachchhan Paandey’ was screening at that time but was cut short as the theater had to clear out. A mob of people wearing saffron scarves came to the theater demanding that The Kashmir Files be shown instead.
Akshay actually backed The Kashmir Files and praised it for its achievements. He tweeted “Hearing absolutely incredible things about your performance in #TheKashmirFiles @AnupamPKher amazing to see the audience back to the cinemas in large numbers. Hope to watch the film soon. Jai Ambe.”
