HBO’s acclaimed series, “The White Lotus,” is confirmed to make its mark in Thailand for its third season. Announced by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and HBO, the filming, set to commence in February, will unfold across the vibrant locales of Bangkok, Phuket, and Ko Samui.
The TAT, anticipating the global spotlight on Thailand, has joined forces with HBO for the production and promotion of the award-winning series. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We are honored to have amazing Thailand featured as the filming location for the highly anticipated upcoming season of ‘The White Lotus.'”
Natasha Rothwell, star of ‘White Lotus’ Season 3, has teased viewers, promising they will be “in for a treat.” Janet Graham Borba, EVP of Production at HBO & Max, highlighted the partnership, saying, “We are pleased to partner with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to execute Mike’s creative vision and showcase all that the beautiful country of Thailand has to offer.”
This announcement aligns with the tradition of the series, known for its luxurious settings in renowned tourist destinations. Seasons one and two unfolded in the opulence of Hawaii and Sicily, featuring the transformative experiences of guests and employees at a luxurious resort.
Adding to the speculation surrounding the upcoming season, the choice of Thailand hints at a potential partnership with the Four Seasons properties. Known for representing the fictional White Lotus resort, previous seasons featured the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea and San Domenico Palace in Sicily. While rumors circulate about the next season being set in one of Thailand’s Four Seasons properties, the luxury hotel brand remains tight-lipped.
As anticipation builds for the new season, a notable ensemble cast, including returning star Natasha Rothwell as Belinda, promises an engaging narrative. Other announced cast members for season three include Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, and Tayme Thapthimthong.
With “The White Lotus” Season Three poised to showcase Thailand’s exotic beauty, rich culture, and warm hospitality, the series emerges not just as entertainment but as a cultural ambassador, offering the world a captivating glimpse into the wonders of the Thai experience.
