Union Home Minister Amit Shah Reviews Development Work in J&K

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting of senior officials including the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to review the ongoing development works in Jammu and Kashmir. In this meeting, the Union Home Minister directed to ensure the benefits of refugee package to all the refugees from Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, West Pakistan and Kashmir to Jammu at the earliest. The Union Home Minister also reviewed the ongoing work of corona vaccination. He also stressed on increasing the scope of MNREGA to provide employment to more and more people.

The Union Home Minister congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir administration on the completion of 76 percent corona vaccination work and 100 percent completion in four districts. The Union Home Minister told all the officials present in the meeting that the projects and development schemes of the Prime Minister’s Development Package, industrial development, which are going on in Jammu and Kashmir, should be completed at the earliest. He asked for fast-tracking the hydel power projects of 3000 MW. Along with this, instructions were also given to start other schemes of 3300 MW.

He also stressed on increasing the scope of MNREGA to provide employment to more and more people. At the same time, he talked about the use of modern techniques in agriculture and setting up at least one agro-based industry in each district to increase the income of the farmers. He also said that work should be done to increase the quality and density of apple production in Jammu and Kashmir, so that apple growers will get maximum price for the crop. Along with this, he also directed for the visit of the Panchayat members of Jammu and Kashmir to India so that they can get information about the working of the developed Panchayats of the country.

Amit Shah directed for the strengthening of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies and proper seating arrangement and equipment and other necessary resources for the training of their members and for their smooth functioning.

Instructed the Jammu and Kashmir administration that the schemes being run for the farmers, such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana, under which Rs 6000 / – is deposited annually in the account of farmers and under Kisan Credit Card, all farmers should get the benefits of these schemes. Make sure. The Union Home Minister also asked to ensure that the benefits of industrial policy reach the small scale industries. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and senior officials of the Central Government and the Government of Jammu and Kashmir were also present in the meeting.
