After the arrest of Olympic winner Sushil Kumar in the murder of wrestler Sagar Dhankad at Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi, Northern Railway has suspended him from service. Officials said that his suspension order will remain intact till further orders. Sushil Kumar was posted as Deputy Chief Commercial Officer at Northern Railway at this time after several out-of-turn promotions.
Deepak Kumar, CPRO of Northern Railway said – Criminal investigation is going on against Sushil Kumar. He was taken into police custody on 23 May 2021 for more than 48 hours. Now, therefore, his service is being suspended from the date of his detention. Significantly, Sushil Kumar, the main accused in the Sagar Dhankad Murder case, remained with the police for almost two weeks. But Sushil was arrested from Mundka area.
