Thailand’s TDAC Speeds Up Immigration at 6 Major Airports

Bangkok, Thailand — Good news for tourists, expats, and business travelers heading to Thailand: the immigration process just got faster. As of May 1, 2025, the Thailand Immigration Bureau has fully launched the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) system, now in effect at six major international airports.

The new system replaces the old TM6 paper form with a simple online registration, helping international travelers save time and enjoy a smoother arrival experience.

What Is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)?

The TDAC is an online form that all foreign travelers must complete before arriving in Thailand. It collects basic travel and personal information that was previously written by hand on the TM6 card during your flight or at the airport.

Now, with TDAC, you can fill out everything online ahead of time, making the immigration process much faster when you land.

Where Is TDAC Required?

TDAC is now required at all six international airports managed by Airports of Thailand (AOT):

  • Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) – Bangkok’s main international gateway

  • Don Mueang Airport (DMK) – For budget airlines and regional flights

  • Chiang Mai Airport (CNX) – Gateway to Northern Thailand

  • Mae Fah Luang–Chiang Rai Airport (CEI) – Northern Thailand’s hidden gem

  • Phuket Airport (HKT) – For beach and resort travel

  • Hat Yai Airport (HDY) – The hub of Southern Thailand

How to Use TDAC

  1. Before You Fly:
Visit the official TDAC registration website and fill in your travel details. This takes only a few minutes and can be done on your phone or computer.

  2. At the Airport
Show your QR code or confirmation to immigration officers. It helps speed up the process and reduces time spent in line.

  3. Didn’t Register Yet?
No problem. AOT has set up help desks and iPad stations at each airport to assist travelers who didn’t complete TDAC before arrival. Friendly staff will guide you through the process.

Why This Matters

Whether you’re visiting for vacation, moving to Thailand long-term, or coming for work, TDAC makes entry into Thailand faster, safer, and more convenient. The system also improves national security by helping immigration officers verify traveler data more efficiently.

Since its launch, TDAC has been well-received, with travelers reporting shorter wait times and a more organized arrival experience.
